Description

Sewage system made of unplasticised polyvinyl chloride with ring stiffness SN 12 solid wall design, manufactured in accordance with ČSN EN 1401-1. These pipes and fittings are designed for sewage connections and main drainage pipes with the possibility of installation up to 8 metres below ground level.

KG-System (PVC) – durable sewage system with long service life and stability

KG-System (PVC) is a modern sewage system manufactured using coextrusion technology, which makes it possible to create a pipe with a special multi-layer structure. This structure is reminiscent of the structure of large bones in nature – a hard surface, tough core and optimal load-bearing capacity. As a result, the system is exceptionally strong, stable and suitable for a wide range of applications in domestic and engineering sewerage.

The material used unplasticised polyvinyl chloride (PVC-U) has proven itself over the long term as a material with high durability, excellent mechanical properties and resistance to chemical and biological ageing. KG-System (PVC) forms a reliable basis for sewage connections, main drainage pipes under buildings and sewer networks with high cover.

Why choose KG System

Excellent hydraulic properties, durability and service life of up to 100 years

KG-System pipes and fittings are manufactured from PVC-U, which provides a combination of properties ideal for long-term operation:

  • perfectly smooth internal wall with high resistance to abrasion
  • strong and tough outer layer capable of withstanding the pressure of backfill materials
  • flexible core, which resists ground and wheel loading
  • excellent dimensional stability even under long-term stress

Thanks to these properties, the system achieves a service life of up to 100 years and provides reliable performance without the need for demanding maintenance.

Joints that are 100% tight and resistant to root penetration

The tightness of the KG-System (PVC) is ensured by special tongue-shaped sealing elements made of durable rubbers seated in the pipe socket groove.

Their design enables:

  • maintaining tightness even when the pipe is deformed or deflected
  • flexible joint behavior under load
  • preventing root penetration into the joint
  • protecting the sealing element from dirt and mechanical damage

As a result, the joint remains stable and functional throughout the service life of the pipeline.

Safety thanks to reinforced wall construction

KG-System (PVC) pipes and fittings are manufactured according to current European standards EN 1401-1 a ČSN EN 13 476-2, which specify a greater wall thickness than the previous DIN standard.
This increases strength, dimensional stability and resistance to loading and deformation.

The result is a system that can safely operate even in demanding conditions, where high cover or increased surface loading is a risk.

Wide range of applications and ability to connect to other systems

KG-System (PVC) is a universal sewerage system with a wide selection of components. The available pipe is the solid-wall pipe SN 12.

Ring stiffness SN 12 allows installation up to 7 meters depth, which covers the needs of most residential and public sewerage networks.

The system enables:

  • subsequent insertion of components
  • connection of inspection chambers
  • connection to other common sewerage systems

As a result, it is flexible not only for new construction, but also for reconstructions.

Fast assembly and easy installation

Low weight PVC-U significantly facilitates handling and assembly — even for pipes 5 to 6 meters long.
Connection using a socket with sealing is fast, clean and safe. It does not require any special technologies or tools.

Fewer joints compared to heavy materials (e.g. concrete pipes) brings shorter installation time and reduced risk of failures.

FAQ

KG fittings have two dark lines that look like cracks. Are these weak spots (quality defects)?

This is not a defect. These lines are due to manufacturing technology. These are tool separation seams (may be slightly raised and thus tactile), which are created during the operation of both tool halves, or they are seams resulting from flow marks, where the injected material flows together (can be recognized as a darker line).

Direction of plastic pipe installation

Installation of pipes with sockets / couplings is usually carried out so that the pointed end is in the direction of flow. The pointed end is inserted into the socket / coupling.

Quote from the plastic pipes manual (4th edition, section 3.4.4 Construction of sewers and wastewater pipes, page 463)

Based on this, the installation of piping in the direction of flow is clearly defined.

Wastewater from pumping stations – can it be implemented with the KG-System (PVC) or KG 2000 Polypropylene system?

Yes, it is possible. With both systems, wastewater from pumping stations (oils, lubricants, glycol, methane, propane, butane, hydrocarbons, diesel, etc.) can be discharged, provided NBR seals are used.

Maximum operating temperatures of pipes, fittings and seals

Maximum operating temperatures can be found in the individual catalogs of wastewater and sewage systems and seals.

continuous short-term
60°C 60°C

Sealing Areas of use - temperatures
SBR (at manufacturer/within the work) approx. -50°C to +100°C
EPDM approx. -50°C to +150°C
NBR (can be ordered separately) approx. -30°C to +100°C

SBR Improved resistance to wear and aging, good resistance to operating fluids
EPDM Excellent resistance to wear, aging and most operating fluids
NBR Versatile material. Sealing for contact with mineral oil or fuels. Poor resistance to ozone and weathering.
Pipe behavior in fire

No fire load is emitted from pipes laid in the ground, therefore classification of sewer pipes is not required.

Chemical resistance of sealing M.O.L. to "swimming pool water"

Seals of systems BL, DD and Euro L Spezial are resistant to water with a maximum chlorine content of 0.6 mg/l.

What does the suffix "-U" mean in PVC-U?

"PVC-U" means PVC without plasticizer content. "U" stands for "unplasticised". For this rigid PVC application, additives such as plasticizers are not used. In addition to high hardness and dimensional stability, the material is characterized by excellent chemical resistance.

High groundwater level – what must be observed when laying sewer pipes?

"Installation in the groundwater area only if it is ensured that no displacement and shifting of backfill material can occur (e.g. concreting into a fine gravel filter layer)".

"When working in the groundwater area, care must be taken to ensure that the supporting layer of the installation is free of water during construction."

"The pipe zone must be protected against any foreseeable change in load-bearing capacity, stability or bedding, where such change may be caused by: e.g. the effect of groundwater".

If you have any doubts about the suitability of sewer pipe installation, please contact us and we will perform a static calculation.

We have a test report from the M.O.L. sealing ring manufacturer on "tightness under external overpressure" (dated 14.07.2004). A test was performed against external pressure of 0.5 bar (5m water column).

May the design of a sewer/drainage system be reduced (narrowed) in the direction of flow?

No. This provision is used, among other things, to prevent the formation of (back) water backing up and retained quantities within the system.

Minimum and maximum cover for KG-System (PVC) pipes

Under traffic-loaded areas: 1.0 m

Under areas without traffic: 0.8 m

Maximum cover:

The height of permissible cover is dependent on a number of factors, and therefore in case of doubt a static calculation must be performed using a program specially prepared for this purpose. Our technical staff will be happy to perform the calculation for you.

Is it possible to combine rainwater and sewage pipes in a building?

No. It is not permitted to combine rainwater and sewage pipes inside a building. Pipes may only be converted into a common pipe outside buildings (preferably near the connection channel at the property boundary).

An exception becomes valid if it is a boundary development, in which case it is also permissible to combine rainwater and sewage pipes inside the building.

Can PVC be glued?

Yes. It is permitted. PVC can be glued because it can swell in esters, ketones, chlorinated hydrocarbons and some other solvents, or is even soluble in them.

Is it permitted to shorten fittings?

It is not permitted. The construction/dimensions of fittings are precisely specified and manufactured according to standard ČSN EN 1401-1.

Can KG-System (PVC)) piping be installed inside buildings? Answer:

No. The piping is not classified according to fire resistance B2 as HT-System (PP) PLUSor Skolan Safe dB.

Assignment of products to standards / certificates

KG-System (PVC) (DN 110 - DN 500) according to standard ČSN EN 13476-2 and ČSN EN 1401-1.

Which system is suitable for wastewater containing fats (in canteens, commercial kitchens, industry, gastronomy, etc.)?

It is recommended to use sewerage system KG 2000 Polypropylene for the area of use "UD" – under the foundation slab and outside the building in the ground. For internal waste (area of use "B") HT-System PLUS (PP) a Skolan SAFE dB with sealing rings made of NBR.
